William H. Cass, Sr., 65, of Pitcher, NY, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2009, at his home.
Bill was born in the Town of Taylor on March 4, 1944, a son of the late Howard and Bessie Gates Cass. A lifelong resident of the area, he attended the Pitcher Federated Church. For several years, he operated a dairy farm in Pitcher and was also a self-employed welder for many years.
He is survived by his children, William Cass, Jr. of Taylor, Timothy (Kristine) Cass of Pitcher, and Tina (Donald II) Knickerbocker of Cincinnatus. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Justin, Amber, Alicia, Melanie, Rachel, Miranda, and Madison; and his sisters, Barbara Brown of Pitcher and Eleanor (Lloyal) Burrows of Genoa.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no prior calling hours or funeral service. A graveside ceremony will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the Pitcher Cemetery with Fred M.S. Downs officiating. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Bill may be directed to the Pitcher Federated Church, c/o LeRoy Closson, Cheningo-Solon Pond Rd., Cincinnatus, NY 13040.
