Wayne H. Smith, 87, of Zephryhills, FL and formerly of South Otselic, NY, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, while visiting his family in South Otselic.

Born in Taylor, NY, on September 7, 1936, Wayne was the son of the late Harry and Maude (Potter) Smith.  For over 50 years, he owned and operated a dairy farm in South Otselic. Wayne was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in the great outdoors and cherishing moments spent with his beloved family above all else. His warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family meant everything to Wayne, and his legacy lives on through his devoted wife of 65 years, Judith Morse Smith. Wayne also leaves behind his loving children: Kim (Jamie) Jolliff from Middletown, MD, Mark Smith from South Otselic, Susan Smith-Dougherty from Hedgesville, WV, and Brian (Diane) Smith from South Otselic; a brother, Raymond (Jill) Smith of Norwich; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Sherry Smith-Marshall, and sister, Joan Fagan.

The famly will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  A brief time of sharing and remembrance will be held at the conclusion of visitation.  Burial in Valley View Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Wayne may be directed to a local SPCA agency.
