Steven M. McCracken

Steven M. McCracken, 60, of Cortland, NY, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Crown Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Cortland, NY.

Steven was born in Cortland, NY, on December 11, 1957, a son of the late Eugene and Mary Burk McCracken.  Prior to his illness, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Cortland County Highway Department.  Steven proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1976 to 1983.

He is survived by his son, Joshua (Mikalah Lytle) Hill of Moravia; brothers, Timothy (M.J.) McCracken of Marathon and David (Holly) McCracken of Vestal; sisters, Linda Abbatiello of Cincinnatus, Pat McCracken of GA, Kathy (Jeff) Stevens of Cincinnatus, and Roxanne Vosburg of Pharsalia.  He also leaves behind his uncles, James (Shirley) Burk of Marathon and LeRoy Joseph (Kay Evener) Burk of McGraw; a close friend, Jill Wood of Cincinnatus; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an aunt, Helen Cook.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no prior calling hours or funeral services.  The family has asked that expressions of sympathy may be made to an organization benefitting veterans.
