Stanley G. Kingdon

Stanley G. Kingdon, 79, of Willet, NY, passed away on February 27, 2024, at the Cortland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Cortland, NY.

Born in Binghamton, NY, on March 12, 1944, Stanley was the son of the late Stanley L. and Ann Jones Kingdon.  Stanley was a member of The Chapel Church in Cortland.  He was known for his hard work and commitment throughout his life.  Stanley was a dedicated self-employed truck driver for over 50 years.  During his long career, Stanley delivered parts for NAPA in Ithaca and Cook Brothers in Homer with a sense of pride and reliability that earned him the respect of all who knew him. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his contributions to the industry were invaluable.

Outside of work, Stanley found solace in watching western movies, truly enjoying every moment spent immersed in their stories. His dedication to his hobbies mirrored the way he approached every aspect of his life – with passion and sincerity.

Stanley will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his children, Nancy (Kariann) Kingdon of Willet, Catherine Lester of Windsor, Steven (Mary) Kingdon of Conklin, Scarlet (Ricky) Strickland of Tennessee, Robin Cervantes of Minnesota, and Teresa Griffin of Alabama.  He also leaves behind a sister, Dorothy Polhamus of Conklin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Debbie.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Candice McEwen and several siblings.  

A memorial service will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Willet Cemetery.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until the start of the service at 1:00 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Stanley may be directed to the The Chapel Church, 1118 Route 222, Cortland, NY 13045.
