Sharon A. Morehouse

Sharon A. (Connelly) Morehouse, 77, of McGraw, NY, crossed over on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at her home.

Sharon was born in Cortland, NY, on August 6, 1941, the daughter of the late Vincent and Elva Parsons Connelly.  She was employed as the human ecology secretary and office manager for Cornell Cooperative Extension for 29 years.

She is survived by her son, Ricky (Deb) Fowler of Spanaway, WA; daughters, Michelle Morehouse of Cortland and Mary Jo Morehouse Shorts of McGraw; eight grandchildren, Michelle (Carlos) Triana, Cathy, David, and Chris Fowler, all of Spanaway, WA, Jacki, Justin, and Kevin Shorts, all of McGraw, and Elizabeth (Chip Platt) Ocque of Rochester.  She also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren (three of Spanaway, WA and five of Rochester); a brother, Gene (Carole) Connelly of McGraw; sisters-in-law, Berdine Connelly of IL and Vicki Fowler Dunning of FL; sisters-in-law, Julia Morehouse of Trumansburg, Marie Morris of Moravia, Sara Bush of Cortland, Ruth Delong of AZ, and Ruby Scalia of Trumansburg.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald Morehouse; Larry Fowler; brother, James Connelly; sister, Donna Rutan; several brothers-in-law; a sister-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, there are no services.  A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.  A Celebration of Sharon’s Life will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at the McGrawville Baptist Church.  Sharon had requested that expressions of sympathy be made to the places that were near and dear to her heart -- Hospicare, 11 Kennedy Parkway, Cortland, NY 13045 or the Lamont Memorial Free Library, 5 E. Main Street, McGraw, NY 13101.
