Ruth E. Harahus

Ruth E. (Randall) Harahus, 65, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2011, at the Cortland Regional Medical Center, Cortland, NY following a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Ruth was born in Cortland, NY on September 6, 1945, a daughter of the late Watson and Frances Call Randall. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a 1963 graduate of Marcellus Central School. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and always lived life to its fullest. A loving mother and grandmother who cherished her grandchildren, she will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Julie (Terry) Lynch of Binghamton, Jodi (Ron Maricle) Harahus of Freetown, Jackie Harahus of Owego and Jeff Harahus of Freetown. She also leaves behind her sisters, Lillian (George Elliott) Roberts of Cortland and Brenda (Martin) Collard of Borodino; an aunt, Ida Call Becker of Sempronius; an uncle, John Call of N. Syracuse; 11 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Harahus, and a grandson, David Harahus.

The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY on Friday, March 18, 2011, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at the Upper Lisle Cemetery in the spring of the year.
