Ronald E. Bush, Jr., 60, of Pitcher, NY, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021, at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, while surrounded by his family.
Ron was born in Cortland, NY, on March 24, 1960, a son of Ronald Bush, Sr., and Patricia Elwood. A lifelong resident of the area, he had worked for Central NY Vault Company, Cortland, for several years. Ron enjoyed farming and field work on a tractor all of his life and had worked on several farms in the area, including the Oros Farm, the Al Huntley Farm, the Turshman Farm, the Rutan Farm, and the Anthony Carruthers Farm. He had also worked as a mason for Joe Golicki and a logger with J.R. Bonham. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobile riding.
In addition to his mother, Patricia Bush Johnston, of Pitcher, he is survived by his children, Kenny (Ginny Burdick) Bush of DeRuyter, Erin (Michael) Kenyon of Willet, Nathan (Kate Bassett) Bush of Cincinnatus, Ethan (Dominique Burkhammer) Bush of Parish, Brennan (Rebecca) Bush of Charlottesville, NC, Brandon (Abigail Putnam) Bush of Cincinnatus, and Mitchell Bush of Hooks, TX. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Arianna, Gavin, Dilan, Damian, Dayne, Jameson, Blake, Oakley, Blake, Connor, Mila, Jaxson, and Laikyn; a brother, James (Jennifer Pickert) of E. Freetown; sisters, Laura (Marsha Mendys) Bush of Toolan, CT, Susan (Larry) Manley of Willet, and Sandra K. Bush of Cortland; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Michael Bush.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no prior calling hours. A public celebration of Ron’s life will be held later this summer.
