Robert T. Saplin

Robert T. Saplin, 64, of Killawog, NY, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Crown Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Cortland, NY, following an extended illness.

Born in Delaware on August 12, 1952, Bob was the son of the late Herman and Hilda Oakley Saplin.  A longtime resident of the area, he was a 1970 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School and worked as the head groundskeeper at Maple Hill Golf Course, Marathon, NY, for 34 years.

He is survived by his children, Misty (Jonathan) Schultes, of Tulsa, OK, John Saplin of Cortland, and Cliff (Roxanne) Saplin of Killawog.  He also leaves behind a grandson, C.J. Saplin; and his sister, Sandra (Douglas “Butch”) Vosburg of Cincinnatus; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Evelyn Schultes, and a brother, Francis “Bucky” Saplin.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no prior calling hours or funeral service.
