Richard L. Rupert, Sr.

Richard L. Rupert, Sr., 61, of Berkshire, NY, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2009, at the home of his son in Berkshire.

Rich was born in Cortland, NY on May 8, 1948, a son of the late Willis and Phyllis Sears Rupert. A longtime resident of the area, he was previously employed at Smith-Corona in Cortland and National Pipe and Plastic in Vestal.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Wheeland Rupert of Berkshire and two sons, Richard (Shirley) Rupert, Jr. of Berkshire and Clair Rupert of Berkshire. He also leaves behind his brothers, Clair Rupert, Mark Rupert, Jerry Rupert, Bill Rupert, and Ray Rupert; his sisters, Jean Underwood, Pauline Thompson and Nancy Cooper; five grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Dyer.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no prior calling hours or funeral services. A graveside ceremony will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at the Center Lisle Cemetery.
