Richard W. MacLaury

Richard W. MacLaury, 83, of South Otselic, NY, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Crouse Community Center, Morrisville, NY. 

Born in McDonough, NY, on June 29, 1941, Richard was the son of the late Julian and Jessie Wilcox MacLaury. He retired from the Chenango County Highway Department in 2000 after 16 years of service. Prior to that, he had worked for the Town of Lincklaen as a heavy equipment operator. 

He is survived by his daughters, Crystal MacLaury of South Otselic, June MacLaury of Borderland, and Winnie (John Wilbur) MacLaury of South Otselic. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Dominick MacLaury, Jacob Wilbur, and Jessie Preece; many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Esther (Greene) MacLaury, on April 30, 2021; and several siblings. 

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Richard may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
