Richard W. Deiss

Richard W. Deiss, 64, of Willet, NY, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015, at his home, while surrounded by his family.

Dick was born in Binghamton, NY, on November 28, 1950, a son of the late J. Richard and Doris McGlade Deiss.  A longtime resident of this area, he worked as a fabrication supervisor for Binghamton Precast, until his retirement.  He was a member and past chief of the Willet Fire Department and a member of the Cincinnatus Fire Department, where he was active with the Cincinnatus Emergency Squad.  He was also a member of the American Pool Association and the Knickerbocker Country Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Susan Horrocks Deiss; and sons, Clayton (Brenda) Deiss of Taylor and Bruce (Kimberly) Deiss of Long Island.  He also leaves behind his brothers, Dennis (Joellen) Deiss of Cincinnatus and David Deiss of Philadelphia, PA; his sisters, Donna (Glady) Stone of Dryden and Debra (Joseph) Kressler of Cincinnatus; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at the Willet Fire Station, Willet, NY, on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 4:00 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Dick may be directed to Willet Rescue, c/o Margaret Yarnes, P.O.
