Richard H. Briggs

Richard H. Briggs, 62, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, from injuries sustained in a farming accident.

Born in Falls River, MA on January 22, 1949, Richard was a son of the late Frederick H. and Winifred R. DeCastro Briggs. For the past several years, he and his brother, Frederick Briggs, owned and operated Fairholm Farms Limited in Cincinnatus.

He is survived by his brother, Frederick (Mary) Briggs of Cincinnatus and a sister, Janet Ball of Richmond, VA. He also leaves behind his uncles, Ernest (Elizabeth) Briggs of Portsmouth, RI and Winfield DeCastro of Dartsmouth, MA; an aunt, Florence Cross of CT; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a sister, Rebecca Bowden.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Richard may be directed to the Cincinnatus Emergency Squad or the Willet Rescue.
