Rebecca E. Custer

Rebecca E. Custer, 70, of McDonough, NY, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY.

Becky was born in Lexington, KY, on April 26, 1953, the daughter of the late Richard and Eileen Haley Learned.  She was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.  She had previously worked as an office assistant at Cortland Regional Medical Center and at one time had also worked at Magro’s Pizzeria in Cincinnatus.  Becky was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Bruce Custer, and her children, Richard (Eileen) Custer of Houston, TX, Bruce (Charish) Custer of Oxford, and Alicia (Joshua Thibault) Dailey of Rushville.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Quentin Washburn, Shiloh and Lucas Dailey, and Jack Thibault; her stepchildren, Annie and Linda Custer; several siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister.

The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Monday, January 22, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Wayside Rest Cemetery will be in the spring.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Becky may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
