Ramon "Ray" C. White

Ramon "Ray" C. White, 71, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2010, at his home, while surrounded by his family.

Born in Cortland, NY on June 7, 1939, Ray was a son of the late Leon and Aleta Gates White. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Cincinnatus. He was a 1957 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School and retired from Empire Tractor, Cortland, in 2003 after several years of service. He was also a member of the McGraw Sportsmen's Club, Knickerbocker Country Club, Cincinnatus Central School Alumni Association, former member of the Cincinnatus Lions Club, and one of the founding fathers of the Whitetail Lodge in Willet. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Jean Jordan White, at home; and his children, Robin (Rhonda McIntosh) White of West Virginia and Rod (Rebecca) White of Harford. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Nicholas, McKenna, and Rachel; a sister, Ruthella Oros of Cortland; several nieces and nephews; and his loyal canine companion, Cody.

He was predeceased by a brother, Richard White, in 2006.

Funeral services will be held at the United Presbyterian Church, Cincinnatus, on Friday, December 17, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. with Fred M.S. Downs officiating. Burial will be in Willet Cemetery at a later date. The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L.
