Rachel Pearl Field MacRae, 96, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at the Cortland Regional Nursing Facility, Cortland, NY.
Born in the Town of Taylor, NY on October 24, 1915, Mrs. MacRae was the daughter of the late Myron and Myra Phelps Field. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a charter member of the Heritage Hall Foundation and served as the Town of Cincinnatus Historian. She was also the author of "Good Old Days," an article that appeared in the local pennysaver. In her earlier years, she was active in the Home Bureau and taught crafts for Cooperative Extension as well as private classes and through the school and was also active in Cortland County 4H.
She is survived by her sons, Colin (Beth) MacRae of Cincinnatus and Bruce (Kristine) MacRae of DeRuyter. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Annette Popino of Morrisville, Sean MacRae of DeRuyter, Austin MacRae of Freeville, Devon MacRae of Cincinnatus, and Gwyneth MacRae of Philadelphia; and her great-grandchildren, Joseph and Frances Popino of Morrisville.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no prior calling hours or funeral services.
