Peter Card Burdick, 68, of McGraw, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 4, 2021, at the Guthrie Cortland Regional Medical Center.
Peter was born in Cortland, NY, on January 25, 1952 to the late Paul William Burdick and Helen Hulslander. He was a 1972 graduate of McGraw Central School. In 1971, he met the love of his life, Deborah Anne, and later married her in 1998. He was a hard-working man all of his life from being drafted into the U.S. Army right out of high school at the age of 20 to working for his father for many years. He had also worked for McGraw Box Company and Higgins Supply where he later retired. Peter loved all things outdoors. He was a legendary hunter, avid fisherman and spent most of his time walking and tending Camp Cheyenne. He was also an animal lover. He had many various pets, some of which included Ricky Raccoon, donkeys Buddy and Sparky, many dogs, cats, chickens, pigs, flying squirrels, and turkeys, to name a few.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Anne Burdick; a daughter, Heidi and her son Andrew; sons, Pete (Nikki) and their children Taylor, Austin, Kaden, Kamyren, and Jayce, and Bill (Mickayla) and his daughter Aubrey; and a great-granddaughter, Aspen. He also leaves behind his siblings, Paula (Leon) McUmber, Penny (Ronny) Guernsey, Paul “Chick” Burdick, Beth Fitts, Pat Burdick, Pokey Becker, Lisa Burr, Maria Piseno, and Chester Burdick; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by family members, who include, Rosco, Willie, Brandy, Samantha, C.J. and Lodi Mae.
