Oscar L. Bartholomew, Sr.

Oscar L. Bartholomew, Sr., 76, of Pitcher, NY, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at the Cortland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Cortland, NY.

Oscar was born in Pitcher, NY, on February 13, 1945, the son of the late Morris and Delia Locke Bartholomew.  A lifelong resident of this area, he was a member of the Pitcher Federated Church.  Prior to his retirement, he had worked on the Les Gilbert Farm for over 30 years.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia Angell Bartholomew; and his children, Oscar (Kim) Bartholomew, Jr. of Phoenix, NY, Ray (Heidi) Bartholomew of Pitcher, Melissa (Boyd) Rose of DeRuyter, and Asa Bartholomew of New Hope.  He also leaves behind several grandchildren; one great-grandchild, a brother, Scott Bartholomew of Pitcher; sisters, Elva White of Pitcher and Sandra Calhoun of Taylor; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private graveside services will be held at the Union Valley Cemetery with Reverend Will Gallerani officiating.  There will be no prior calling hours or funeral services.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Oscar may be directed to the Church of Christ in Christian Union, 2687 State Route 26, Cincinnatus, NY 13040.
