Nanette G. Leonard

Nanette G. Leonard, 57, of Pitcher, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at her home while surrounded by her family.

Nan was born in Cortland, NY, on March 27, 1958, the daughter of Donald and Mary Ellen Hamilton Gardner.  She had previously been employed as a seamstress at Cortland Corset and Jaline Togs in Homer, NY, and had also done home delivery of the Syracuse Post Standard.  A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, her family was the most important thing in her life and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, James Leonard; and her children, Sarah (Marcus) Chilson of Freetown, Robert Leonard of MO, Charlene (Eric) Murch of AZ, and Christopher Leonard of Cincinnatus.  She also leaves behind her mother, Mary Ellen Gardner, of Freetown; grandchildren, Liam, Lola, Marlee, Cayleb, Isaac, Isaiah, Naomi, and Elisha; brothers, William (Cindy) Gardner of TX and Scott Gardner of Freetown; a sister, Louann Darling of TX; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her father, Donald, she was also predeceased by her brothers, Charles and Donald Gardner.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Nan may be directed to the Hospice of Chenango County, 21 Hayes St., Norwich, NY 13815.
