Mary H. (Conklin) Gofgosky

Mary H. (Conklin) Gofgosky, 97, of Cincinnatus, NY and formerly of Willet, NY, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at the Cortland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Cortland, NY.

Mary was born in Binghamton, NY, on August 30, 1924, the daughter of the late John and Ella Searles Conklin.  She had worked at Rosewood Senior Center, Cincinnatus, from 1973 until her retirement at the age of 85.  She was a former member and past president of the Willet Fire Department Auxiliary and a former member of the Knickerbocker American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter, Dorine Gofgosky Halstrom and her son-in-law, Robert Halstrom, Sr., of Willet; grandchildren, Robert (Heather) Halstrom, Jr., of Willet, Russell (Susan) Halstrom of Freehold, Tim (Stacy) Joslin of Willet, and Ryan Roorda of Bristol, VA.  She also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and a close friend and caregiver, Catherine Silvey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Gofgosky; a daughter, Marlene Roorda; and a granddaughter, Jennifer James.

Private graveside services for Mary will be held at the Willet Cemetery in the spring.  There will be no prior calling hours or funeral services.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mary may be directed to the Willet Fire Department, c/o Margaret Yarnes, P.O. Box 21, Willet, NY 13863.
