Marie Graves, 91, of South Otselic, NY, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at her daughter’s home in South Plymouth, NY.
Born in Erieville, NY, on July 29, 1928, Marie was the daughter of the late Edgar and Pansy Sternberg Wilcox. A longtime resident of the area, she was a member of the United Methodist Church of South Otselic. She retired from Continental Cordage after several years of service and, prior to that, had worked at Gladding Corporation for many years. She was a member of the Perry Cook American Legion Post Auxiliary, South Otselic and in her spare time enjoyed bowling, trips to the casino, and fishing.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Derek) Smith of S. Plymouth; grandchildren, Kristy (Tim) Gulbin of Cincinnati, OH, Robbie Graves of S. Otselic, and Josh (Mallory) Smith of Greene; her great-grandchildren, Kelsea (Trevor) Marston of Cincinnatus, Brooke Graves of S. Otselic, and Kailee, Maddie, and Emma Gulbin, all of Cincinnati, OH. She also leaves behind her sisters, Ruby Watson of Georgetown, and Elaine Oros of Cincinnatus; a brother, Gene (Rosemary) Wilcox of Lincklaen; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Graves, in 1995; a son, Bobby Graves in 2009; and several siblings.
Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. with Jeanne Angell officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the service at 1:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Marie may be directed to Hospice of Chenango County, 21 Hayes Street, Norwich, NY 13815.
