Lucinda "Lucy" D. Ford

Lucinda “Lucy” D. Ford, 64, of Cincinnatus, NY, went home to be with her Lord, on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Crown Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Cortland, NY.

Lucy was born in Cortland, NY, on April 13, 1953, a daughter of the late Nelson Ford, Jr. and Betty VanAtta.  She was a member of the Taylor Wesleyan Church where she was active in their bible study classes and book club.  She was a graduate of Cincinnatus Central School and drove school bus for them for several years before accepting a position with the Town of German.  A loving mother and grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her family.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lorrie and Tom Vosburg and her grandchildren, Kassandra and Kooper Vosburg of Pitcher.  She also leaves behind a brother, Nelson “Louie” Ford III of Cincinnatus; a sister, Carolyn Temple of German; half-sisters, Carmen (Bill) Jones and Renee Perfetti, all of Cortland; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Christopher Tennant, in 1994.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no prior calling hours or funeral services.  A graveside service will be held at the Taylor Rural Cemetery on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. with her pastor, Reverend Peter Bush officiating.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Lucy may be directed to the Taylor Wesleyan Church, 3279 State Route 26, Cincinnatus, NY 13040.
