Louise C. Livermore

Louise C. Livermore, 83, formerly of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the Cortland Regional Nursing Facility, Cortland, NY.

Mrs. Livermore was born in Willet, NY on March 7, 1929, a daughter of the late Otto and Clara Schmeidel Maynard. A longtime resident of this area, she was a 1946 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School. For several years, she served as the Cincinnatus Town Clerk and was a member of the Cincinnatus Emergency Squad where she served as an EMT. She retired from Smith-Corona, Cortland, in 1983 where she worked as an inspection supervisor.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathryn (Mel) Manasse of Whitney Point; and a son, Kevin (Linda Hotaling) Livermore of Chandler, AZ. She also leaves behind a brother, Rolland Maynard of South Paris, ME; her grandchildren, Leslie, Matthew, Sarah, Anita, and Benjamin; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald "Peel" Livermore, in 1993; a son, Kenneth Livermore, in 1988; and a grandson, Nicholas Livermore.

A brief committal service will be held at the Taylor Rural Cemetery on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m. with Fred M.S. Downs officiating. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory be made to the Cincinnatus Emergency Squad, c/o Elaine Oros, 5771 McFarlane Road, Cincinnatus, NY 13040 or the Cortland Regional Nursing Facility Activity Fund, 134 Homer Avenue, Cortland, NY 13045.
