Lonnell “Lonnie” J. (Hakes) Harvey, 77, of Cincinnatus, NY, went home to be with her Saviour on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at the Cortland Regional Nursing Center, Cortland, NY.
Lonnie was born in Cortland, NY, on August 15, 1940, the daughter of the late Carl George Hakes and Reta Miles Hakes. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus where she participated in the junior church, served as a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. She was well-known for providing catering service to many weddings over the years and especially known for her baked goods. A kind and giving woman, she was a loving mother and grandmother who always had a smile and would do anything for anybody.
She is survived by her children, Patricia (William) Eaton of Cincinnatus, Kenneth (Tinamarie) Harvey of Cincinnatus, James (Diane) Harvey of W. Monroe, and Catherine (Daniel) McUmber of Cincinnatus. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Alyssa, Brianna, Shaylah, Carly, Kyler, and Cassidy; and her sister, Sharon (Richard) Rice of FL.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Glenn Harvey, on November 23, 2015.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 1:00 p.m., with Reverend James Hundley officiating. Burial will be in Lower Cincinnatus Cemetery.
