Lois Elizabeth (Gredlein) Geesey, 97, formerly of Groton, NY, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, on February 14, 1927, Mrs. Geesey was the daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret McKay Gredlein.  She found the church to be a blessing and attended the Crossroads of Life Church in Binghamton.  She retired from Cornell University in 1990 where she had worked as a secretary for several years.  For the past nine years, she had resided with her daughter and son-in-law in Candor.  Besides her love for the Lord, her family was the most important thing to her.  A gentle and kind woman, she taught her children and grandchildren to be strong.

She is survived by her children, Laura Jean (Jack) Shawley of Candor, David Robert (Cindy) Geesey of Coats, NC, and Cindy (Ray) Sulsh of Frisco, TX.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Amanda (Billy), Nicole, Jack III (McKinley), Jessica, Joanna, Brian (Jenna), and David (Patrycya); sisters, Betty Russell of Zephyrhills, FL and Alice Cody of Groton; sisters-in-law, Beverly Lewis of Manlius and Juanita Lewis of Zephyrhills, FL; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Robert Geesey, on December 30, 2015; a son, Steven Geesey in 1978, her stepfather, Edward Lewis; and siblings, Edward and John Lewis.

Graveside services will be held at the McGraw Cemetery on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dann Travis officiating.  All are welcome to attend.  There will be no prior calling hours or funeral service.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Geesey may be directed to Crossroads of Life Church, 18 Exchange Street, Binghamton, NY 13901.
