Leslie O. Thornton, Jr.

Leslie O. Thornton, Jr., 72, of Homer, NY, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020, at the Guthrie Cortland Regional Medical Center, Cortland, NY.

Born in Cortland, NY, on August 23, 1948, Mr. Thornton was the son of the late Leslie Thornton, Sr. and Minnie Corrington Thornton.  He was a 1966 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School and had worked on several dairy farms in the area before owning his own farm.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rosemary Morley Thornton; and his children, Brian (Brandi) Thornton of New Berlin, Kenneth Thornton of Sidney, Kristine Stevens of McGraw, Kelly (Steven) Moyer of South Otselic, Jennifer Thornton of Ogdensburg, and Trudy Kiah of Ogdensburg.  He also leaves behind 22 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his canine companion, Kya.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Leslie Kupris.

A celebration of Leslie’s life will be held at a later date and time.  There will be no immediate calling hours or funeral service.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Leslie may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
