Lee C. Hoellerer, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the age of 87 at Auburn Community Hospital, Auburn, NY. Born on May 18, 1937, Lee lived a life rich in love, dedication, and hard work.

A proud veteran, Lee served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959, stationed on the U.S.S. Coney, where he exemplified commitment and service to his country. After his military service, he channeled his passion for agriculture into owning and operating dairy farms in Freetown and Scipio Center, a career that spanned many fruitful years. Lee also made significant contributions as the mill manager at Hewitt Brothers Feed Mill and worked baling hay at Chip Auchampaugh Farms.

Beyond his professional achievements, Lee was an avid hunter, known for his enthusiasm for both deer and turkey hunting. In addition, he taught himself to play the banjo. Above everything, Lee was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Barbara Closson Hoellerer; his sons, Carl Hoellerer, and Nathan (Terri) Hoellerer; his daughters, Ellen (Mark) Peet and Patricia (John) Nelson; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and his canine companions, Polly and Josie. Lee's legacy will continue through them, and he will always be remembered for the warmth and love he brought to their lives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hoellerer; his mother, Elsie Bausch Hoellerer; and his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Janis Hoellerer.
