Kathryn I. Raymond

Kathryn I. (Rose) Raymond, 81, of Pitcher, NY, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022, at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA, while surrounded by her loving family.

Kathy was born in Binghamton, NY, on March 5, 1941, the daughter of the late Henry and Florence Furman Rose.  She was a longtime resident of Pitcher and had retired from Rubbermaid in Cortland in 1999.  She had also been employed at Crescent Corset, Gladding Corporation, and the Cincinnatus Central School.  Kathy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who cherished the time she spent playing cards and visiting with her family.  For 25 years, she took care of her husband of 60 years, Fred Raymond, as he faced the battles associated with aging.  Kathy always enjoyed having fun, whether on a bus trip or with family, and loved to go the casino to try her luck.

She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Bennie) Bush of Virgil, Donna Raymond of Cortland, and Sandra (Kenny Alberts) Standish of Pitcher.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jesse Dayton, Jeffrey (Karen) Standish, Ashley (Kevin) Stearns, Lucas (Libby) Bush, Levi (Brianna Donahue) Bush, and Bradley (Brooke Williams) Standish; her great-grandchildren, Niko Ingle, Hunter Stearns, Brady Standish, Grayson “Card Shark” Standish, Henry Stearns and Bella Bush; her sister, Clara Byron of Cincinnatus; sister-in-law, Delores Rose of McGraw; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Raymond in 2019; sisters, Doris Tracy and Pearl Gillette; and brothers, Richard, Henry, and Carl Rose.

Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with Fred M.S. Downs officiating.  Burial will be in Taylor Rural Cemetery.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the service at 1:00 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Kathy may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
