Julie A. Van Dee

Julie A. Van Dee, 44, of Cuyler, NY, passed away on September 29, 2024, at the Westchester Memorial Hospital in Valhalla, NY.

Born on August 4, 1980, in Cortland, NY, Julie grew up surrounded by the beauty of her hometown and the warmth of her family. A member of the United Church of DeRutyter, Julie was a proud graduate of Marathon Central School, class of 1998.

Julie previously worked at the J.M. Murray Center in Cortland, NY, where she applied her compassionate nature and dedication to helping others. Beyond her professional responsibilities, she had a creative spirit and found happiness in crafting. She enjoyed showcasing and selling her creations at various craft shows, where her talent shone brightly.

A loving wife to her husband of 13 years, Jody Van Dee, and devoted mother, Julie’s life revolved around her family, with the greatest joy found in her children, Krystallynne, Wyatt, Sawyer, and Ryker. Her deep love for her family was evident in everything she did, from providing unconditional support to sharing countless moments of laughter and love. Julie also took immense pride in being a grandmother to Alana and Oliver Marvin, cherishing the special bond they shared. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is remembered fondly by her father, John Adams, her sister, Jenny Adams, and her mother-in-law, Betty Van Dee.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Elaine Wendela Adams, and her father-in-law, George S. Van Dee, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to honor Julie’s life during visitation on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the United Church of DeRuyter. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tracy Ellis officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
