Julia Palermo

Julia Palermo, 88, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the Groton Nursing Facility, Groton, NY.

Born in Laurel Hill, NY on August 6, 1923, Mrs. Palermo was a daughter of the late Peter and Edna Brunner O'Leary. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Raymond Palermo, in 2006.

She is survived by her daughter, Rosemarie Nickelson, of Taylor; a son, Raymond Palermo of Long Island, NY, and a brother, Dennis O'Leary of Livingston Manor, NY. She also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A prayer service will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Alfred Bebel officiating. A prayer service will also be held at the O'Shea Funeral Home, East Meadow, NY on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. The family will be present to receive friends at the O'Shea Funeral Home on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the start of the prayer service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery, Uniondale, NY.
