Joan H. Geiger

Joan H. Geiger, 61, of South Otselic, NY, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at the Valley View Nursing Facility, Norwich, NY, following a brief illness.

Joan was born in Syracuse, NY, on May 18, 1958, the daughter of the late Dr. Ferdinand and Jean Borzner Geiger.  A longtime resident of the area, she was a member of the South Otselic United Methodist Church.  She was also a life member and past treasurer of the South Otselic Fire Department; a 25-year member of the South Otselic Grange; a member of the South Otselic Bicentennial Committee; a board member for the South Otselic Fishing Heritage Day; and past treasurer of the Valley View Cemetery Association.  In her spare time, she enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts – crocheting, knitting, sewing, and making jewelry and especially enjoyed making jams and jellies.

She is survived by her daughter, Katie Geiger, of South Otselic; her half-sisters, Helen Rabin and Anne Geiger, both of Vermont; and a half-brother, Ferdinand “Andy” Geiger of Ohio; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
