Jim F. Plummer, 65, of South Otselic, NY, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Crouse Memorial Hospital, Syracuse, NY.
Jim was born in Cortland, NY on October 8, 1946, a son of the late Art (Sonny) and E. Marlea (Molly) Myers Plummer. A longtime resident of this area, he attended the First Baptist Church of South Otselic. He retired from the City of Norwich Highway Department after several years of service. Prior to that, he worked at Smith Corona, Cortland, for 18 years. After his retirement, he drove school bus for Otselic Valley Central School. Jim enjoyed many past times but truly loved his cars and trucks.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Dawn Strough Plummer; and his children, Kathy Jo (Pete) Szabelski of Cincinnatus, Richard (Patty) Plummer of S. Otselic, and Tammy (Scott) Hillman of DeRuyter. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Gaven, Madeleine, Michael, Solomon, Molly, and Avery; a brother, Keith (Carol) Plummer of S. Otselic; and sisters, Lindarae Plummer and Donna Plummer, both of S. Otselic; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Dale and Gary Plummer.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of South Otselic on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Moore officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
