Jessie V. Billings

Jessie V. Billings, 78, of Cortland, NY and formerly of Willet, NY, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013, at University Hospital, Syracuse, NY.

Jessie was born in Cortland, NY on December 21, 1934, a daughter of the late E.L. Jack and Alice Salisbury.  She was a member of the Willet United Methodist Church.  Jessie was an avid fan of the country music group, Alabama, and had attended over 150 concerts.  She was also a NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching her favorite driver, Kasey Kahne.  Throughout the years, she volunteered at several charity events for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her family.

She is survived by her children, Alice (Kenneth) Hatch of Pitcher, Raymond (Linda) Billings of Willet, Kenneth (Teresa) Billings of Willet, and Tammy Billings of Cortland.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Mark, Brad, Georgia, Maryland, Josh, and Jon; and her great-grandchildren, Alisa, E.J., Peyton, Carson, Nevaeh, and Logan.

In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Raymond Billings, in 1989; a sister, Ida Walls; and a brother, Donald Salisbury.

A time of remembrance will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY on Friday, June 21, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. followed by burial at Willet Cemetery.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. prior to the service.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Jessie may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
