Janice J. Beebe

Janice J. Beebe, 59, of Berkshire (Speedsville), NY, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, NY, with her husband by her side.

Janice was born in Waxahachie, TX on February 15, 1952, a daughter of the late Joseph Miles Butler and Minnie Pearl Caldwell Butler. A resident of Speedsville for the past 15 years, Janice was involved with the organization to save the wolves.

She is survived by her husband, James Beebe, of Speedsville; stepsons, Brian (Julie) Beebe of Berkshire and Jason Beebe of Candor. She also leaves behind her sisters, Karen Darrow and Ladalle Bridges, both of Oklahoma City, OK; her mother-in-law, Joan Beebe of Speedsville; several nieces and nephews; good friends, Sue Sherry of Berkshire and Peggy Thomas of Alabama; and her canine companions, Maggie, Molly and Annie.

A memorial service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, Speedsville, on Monday, May 16, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Philip Jordan officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the service at 2:00 p.m. Those wishing to remember Janice are kindly asked to consider the Tompkins County SPCA, 1640 Hanshaw Road, Ithaca, NY 14850.
