Glenn C. Livermore

Glenn C. “Fat” Livermore, 84, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, in Syracuse, NY, at the home of Klara Clayton, his 30-year companion.

Glenn was born August 14, 1928 in Cortland, NY, the son of Leonard and Helen Connell Livermore.  A resident of Cortland County for his entire life, he was a 1945 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School.  He proudly served with the U.S. Army during WWII, from 1945 to 1947, obtaining the rank of T/4 as a topographical draftsman 076.  He was a current lifetime member of the Knickerbocker American Legion Post #596 and the United Presbyterian Church where he was so very proud to have been part of the construction of both the church and manse.  He was also past president of the Cincinnatus Central School Board and a former member of the Cincinnatus Fire Department.  He had worked at McGraw Box Company, Thompson Boat, Ken Morris Builders of Norwich and retired from Hayner-Hoyt Corporation in Syracuse.  He was a talented wood craftsman and remodeled many kitchens and homes as well as complete construction of homes in the Cincinnatus area.

He is survived by his three children, Grant (Kathy Davis) of Scottsdale, AZ and S. Plymouth, Gay Giamei of Queen Creek, AZ, and Garth (Chris) of New Hartford.  He also leaves behind six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Geary (Sharon) Livermore of Cincinnatus; a sister, Linda Hayden of Cincinnatus; an uncle, Robert (Lucille) Livermore of Cincinnatus; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his canine companion, Kacie.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a brother, Gerald (Peel) Livermore.

A memorial service will be held at the United Presbyterian Church of Cincinnatus on Friday, May 10, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend George Carruth and Fred M.S. Downs officiating.  There will be no prior calling hours.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Glenn may be made to Hospice Foundation of Central NY, 990 Seventh North St., Liverpool, NY 13088 or the Cincinnatus Emergency Squad, c/o Elaine Oros, 5771 McFarlane Rd., Cincinnatus, NY 13040.
