Glenn B. Harvey, 80, of Cincinnatus, NY, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 23, 2015, at his home.
Born in Cincinnatus, NY on December 23, 1934, Mr. Harvey was the son of the late Clarence and Leona Beckwith Harvey. A lifelong resident of this area, he was a 1953 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus where he was active on several committees. He was proud to be a third-generation dairy farmer for his entire life and was a 60-year member of the NYS Holstein's Association and a longtime member of the Cortland County Farm Bureau. He also served as a mail carrier for 36 years, logging in over one million miles without an accident. Several years ago, he was also a member of the Cincinnatus Fire Department.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Lonnell Hakes Harvey; and their children, Patricia (William) Eaton of Cincinnatus, Kenneth (Tinamarie) Harvey of Cincinnatus, James (Diane) Harvey of W. Monroe, and Catherine (Daniel) McUmber of Cincinnatus. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Alyssa, Brianna, Shaylah, Carly, Kyler, and Cassidy; and a brother, Gerald Harvey of Marathon.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus on Friday, November 27, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend James Hundley officiating. Burial will be in Lower Cincinnatus Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the service at 1:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Harvey may be directed to the Cincinnatus Emergency Squad, c/o Elaine Oros, 5771 McFarlane Road, Cincinnatus, NY, 13040, or to the First Baptist Church of Cincinnatus (to be used for a youth program), P.O.
