George Wellington Davis, 75, born March 20, 1946 in Munnsville, NY, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021.
He was predeceased by his parents, Roland and Laura Reynolds Davis. His parents both worked at McGraw Box Company for 25 years, as did George. Mr. Davis was a member of the National Guard for 13 years and often spoke of his time in the National Guard. He was a marksman and a heavy equipment operator. His last rank was an E-5 Sergeant. He had a deep love for the state of Vermont where both of his parents were born. He held many jobs, including Smith-Corona, Killington Ski Resort, Diamond Back Stadium, and the Grand Canyon.
He is survived by a son, Eric T. Davis and his son, Xavier, both of Freeville; daughter, Heidi J. Zemlianko and her husband Andrei (who was like a son to George) and their children, Nickolas and Rebecca, all of Endwell. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Davis and family.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hillside Cemetery, Georgetown. Expressions of sympathy in memory of George may be made to National Alliance to End Homelessness, Attn: Development Office, 1518 K Street, NW 2nd Floor, Washington, DC 20005.
George often said “Shalom, peace, made whole not broken.”
