Florence M. Doran

Florence M. (Caldwell) Doran, 98, of McGraw, NY, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at the Cortland Regional Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Cortland, NY.

Born in E. Freetown, NY, on July 2, 1922, Mrs. Doran was the daughter of the late Paul and Mildred Kimball Caldwell.  A lifelong resident of the area, she was a member of the McGraw United Methodist Church.  Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a pad maker for silverware with the Central Paper Box Company in McGraw.  She enjoyed helping her husband on the family farm and at one time, had an egg and meat delivery route in McGraw.  In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and camping with her family.  Mrs. Doran was a loving and amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and mother-in-law, and will be dearly missed by her family.

She is survived by her children, David (Carol) of McGraw, Wayne (Judy) of Nightengale, NC, and Charles (Lynda) of McGraw.  She also leaves behind her grandsons, Chad (Denise) of McGraw, John of McGraw, Wayne, Jr., of California, Michael (Joanne) of Pennsylvania, and James of Virginia; her great-grandchildren, Kassandra of McGraw, Alex, Lindsey, and McKenzie, all of Pennsylvania.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert Doran, in 2011; a daughter, Doris Doran, in 1954; a brother, Lawrence Caldwell, in 2010; and a sister, Pauline Hall, in 2018.

Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Katy Prince officiating.  Burial will be in McGraw Cemetery at a later date.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the start of the service at 4:00 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Doran may be directed to the Cortland SPCA, 879 McLean Road, Cortland, NY 13045.
