Emily Christine Davis

Emily Christine Davis, 33, passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on August 16, 2017 in Scranton, PA at the Geisinger Community Medical Center as a result of complications of childbirth.

Born September 17, 1983, Emily graduated from Marathon Central School and Onondaga Cortland Madison BOCES in 2001 and worked as a hair stylist at several area salons. Emily enjoyed fashion and interior design, and happy times with her many friends, clients and schoolmates.  She will be remembered for her friendship, beauty, kindness and love of animals. 

Emily is survived by her parents Steve and Joanie Davis of Marathon, brother Tom Davis of Cortland, and grandmother Joyce Barrows of Marathon, NY.  She was loved and will be dearly missed by daughters Madison and Kennedy Boyer of McGraw, and daughter Gracyn and son Brantley of Carbondale, PA.  In addition, she is survived by a special cousin Kelli Griswold of Cortland, and by many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

She was predeceased by her grandfather Robert "Bobby" Barrows of Marathon, and grandparents Thomas "T.D."  and Dorothy Davis of Homer.

"Emmie" was our sweet little girl and she was loved dearly and deeply by her parents, brother and family. We will cherish our precious memories of the happy times we shared and we thank God for letting us have her in our lives for a short time.

Services will be private and internment will be in Marathon Cemetery with K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, assisting with the arrangements.  Donations may be made in Emily's name to the Central NY Spay Neuter Assistance Program, 178 Central Ave., Cortland, NY 13045 or the Cortland County SPCA, 879 McLean Rd., Cortland, NY 13045.
