Elmer Lehman, 69, of Cortland, NY, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2008, at the Cortland Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness.
Mr. Lehman was born in Helsinki, Finland on January 14, 1939, a son of Helmi Lehtinen Corbin. A former resident of Harford, NY, he retired from the Cornell University Plantations in 2000 after 38 years of service.
In addition to his mother, Helmi Corbin, of Harford, he is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Mary Rogers Lehman of Cortland; his stepchildren, Deborah (Clay) Ingrahm of Pitcher and Timothy (Mindy) Fox of Johnson City. He also leaves behind his step-grandchildren, Jennifer Jackson, Eric Ingrahm, Sarah Sturdevant, Joshua Fox, Holly Ingrahm, and Samantha Peterson; his step-greatgrandchildren, Chase, Eric, Brennan, and David; brothers, Wilbert Keturi of Harford and William Corbin of Freeville, and a sister, Dinah Lanning of Speedsville.
Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Allan Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Rural Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Lehman may be directed to the American Cancer Society, Central NY Office, 7145 Henry Clay Blvd., Liverpool, NY 13088.
