Edward E. Salisbury, 77, of Cortland, NY, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at his home.
Born in Brisben, NY, on April 21, 1941, Ed was the son of the late Emmett and Ruth Molineux Salisbury. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a 1961 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era Conflict from 1961 to 1964. He worked as a self-employed contractor in the Cortland area for several years. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion Post #489, Cortland. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and attending farm auctions.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jo Anne Miller Salisbury; and his daughter, Denise Storm of Conway, MA. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Jack Edward Storm and Madelyn Hope Storm of Conway, MA; and his sisters, Martha (Ray) Sielaff, Mary (Al) Morris, and Charlotte (James) Taylor, all of Florida; several nieces and nephews, and countless friends too numerous to mention by name.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Salisbury.
A private graveside service, with military honors, will be held at the Willet Cemetery. A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at the DAV, 91 Owego Street, Cortland, NY on Saturday, August 11, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Ed may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
