Edward “Skip” E. Cruikshank, Jr., 54, of West Jordan, UT, and formerly of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2016, in Utica, Nebraska, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Skip was born in Syracuse, NY, on June 26, 1962, the son of Edward, Sr. and Sandra Morse Cruikshank. He was a 1980 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1980 to 1983. He worked as a truck driver in the Salt Lake City, UT, area for several years, most recently for ShipEX, Inc., and prior to that, for Knight’s Trucking. Skip was an avid NY Yankee’s and Syracuse University fan. He dearly loved his family and most important to him was spending time with his nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, Sandra Cruikshank, of McGraw; he is also survived by his brothers, Harry (Sherry) Cruikshank and William (Brooke) Cruikshank, all of Salt Lake City, UT; his sisters, Lucy Livermore of Concord, CA, Carole (Gary) Preston of McGraw, and Judy McMullen of Chenango Forks; several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Edward Cruikshank, Sr., and a nephew, Nicholas Livermore.
A graveside service of military honors will be held at the North Pitcher Cemetery, North Pitcher, NY, on Sunday, October 9, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. There will be no prior calling hours or funeral service. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Skip may be directed to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, 18251 Quantico Gateway Drive, Triangle, VA 22172.
