Edgar John Scranton

Edgar John Scranton, 51, of Baldwinsville, NY, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2009, at Community General Hospital, Syracuse, NY.

Ed was born in Lakehurst, NJ on November 28, 1957, a son of John and Vivian Ives Scranton. He was a 1975 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School and a graduate of the Denver Automotive and Diesel Technical School. For several years he was employed as the Northeast Fleet Manager for Suburban Propane. He also worked at Boston Buffalo for two years. Ed was a muscle car enthusiast and especially enjoyed Mopar cars.

In addition to his parents, John and Vivian Scranton of McDonough, he is survived by his children, Amanda (Sean) Todt of Fulton, Jacqueline (Patrick Topley) Scranton of Baldwinsville, Samantha (Kyle) King of Watertown, and Joshua Scranton of Sterling. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Cara, Brendan, Caitlin, Jaydon, and Rocco; and his sisters, Linda (Ed) Maher of Homer and Sharon (Brad) Baldwin of Cincinnatus.

Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY on Friday, August 21, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Palmer Neumeister officiating. Burial will be in Wayside Rest Cemetery, Pharsalia. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 noon until the start of the service. The family has requested that those wishing to remember Ed are asked to visit a resident of a nursing home.
