Dorothy "Dussy" B. McNally

Dorothy “Dussy” B. (King) McNally, 88, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018, at her home, while surrounded by her loving family.

Dussy was born in Cincinnatus, NY, on August 22, 1930, the daughter of the late John Dana and Ester Jerlean Gillum King.  A lifelong resident of Cincinnatus, she was a 1948 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School.  She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Cincinnatus and had been previously active in the choir, hand bells, and served on the session committee.  For many years, she also took care of the flower arrangements at the church and assisted with the church social functions.  She was one of the founding members of the Cincinnatus Corn Fest.  Dussy worked as a self-employed baker and baked hundreds of birthday, wedding and special event cakes for local families throughout the years.  She also served as the cook and caterer for the meals on wheels program.  In her spare time, she enjoyed attending craft shows and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.  She loved music, horses, dogs and cats, but most important to her was her family.

She is survived by her sons, Brian Francis (Peg) McNally of Lougoff, SC, Patrick Owen (Karen) McNally of Berkshire, and Michael Anthony (Betty) McNally of Summerville, SC.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Shiloh (Bill) Aldrich, Erica (Jeff) Stark, Amanda McNally and Kaila McNally; her great-grandchildren, Alexis, William, Madeline, Natalie, and Vanessa Aldrich and Leah and Colin Stark; a sister-in-law, Shirley King of Cincinnatus; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 57 ½ years, Francis “Bud” McNally on October 27, 2007; a grandson, Francis “Buddy” McNally in 2009; and siblings, Margaret Klumpp, John S. King, and Gordon D. King.

Memorial services for Dussy will be held at the United Presbyterian Church of Cincinnatus on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor George Carruth officiating.  The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Saturday, prior to the memorial service, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Dussy may be directed to the United Presbyterian Church of Cincinnatus, 5695 Deer Path Lane, Cincinnatus, NY 13040.
