Doris Elaine Leschorn

Doris Elaine Leschorn, 89, of South Otselic, NY, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Norwich, NY.

Doris was born in Lake Huntington, NY on September 3, 1932, the daughter of the late William and Anna Vetter Heib. She graduated from school in Lake Huntington, NY, with the honor of being named valedictorian. She later worked for an accountant for several years and helped care for her mother. She married Wilbur H. Leschorn, who predeceased her on February 25, 2010. Moving from Sullivan County, Doris and Wilbur owned and operated a dairy farm in South Otselic for many years. She was an avid reader and loved a good murder mystery. In recent years, she had won a contest from Kellogg Free Library for the most books read. Doris enjoyed tending to her cats and growing beautiful flowers from seed. Doris was smart, funny, tough, and independent and often said “I’m not worried about minor details” and lived life accordingly. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by a niece and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by a sister, Gladys Maas and a brother, William Heib, Jr.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services. Private burial will be at Valley View Cemetery, South Otselic, NY.
