Donald E. Forrest

Donald E. Forrest, 82, of South Otselic, NY, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Norwich, NY.

Born in Norwich, NY, on January 21, 1940, Don was the son of the late Arland (Bud) and Ethel Forrest.  A lifelong resident of the area, he retired from Otselic Valley Central School where he taught elementary school for 35 years.  He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #973, South Otselic; member and past master of the Free and Accepted Masons; and a former member of the Knickerbocker Country Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Judy Church Forrest; and their sons, Jeffrey Forrest and Steven (Shannon) Forrest, all of South Otselic.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Zachary, Garrett, Graycee and Ryder.

Memorial services for Don will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Jim Moore officiating.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the start of the service at 4:00 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Don may be directed to the Sons of the American Legion Post #973, c/o Eric Wentworth, P.O. Box 53, South Otselic, NY 13155.  The family will gather at the South Otselic American Legion Post immediately following the memorial service.  All are welcome.
