Diane W. Wells

Diane W. (Miles) Wells, 68, formerly of Newark Valley, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 23, 2015, at the Cortland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Cortland, NY, surrounded by the people who loved her most.

Diane was born in Cortland, NY, on May 8, 1947, the daughter of the late Carroll and Clara Hilsinger Miles.  A longtime resident of Cincinnatus and a 1965 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School, she had been employed as an inspector at Buckbee Mears, Inc., prior to her illness.  Diane enjoyed traveling, camping, and dancing, but most important to her was the love she had for her family and her dog.

She is survived by her sons, Christopher (Kimberly) Wells of Cortland and Jeffrey Wells of North Carolina.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Deseree, Brandon, and Jeffrey II; a sister, Cindy (Ron) Kotas of Cincinnatus; an aunt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald Wells, in 2011, and a daughter, Lisa Anne Wells, in 1971.

Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Archie Smith officiating.  Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, NY, at a later date.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service at 11:00 a.m.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Diane may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff on Whispering Pines and Parkside at Cortland Park.  Their love for Diane was obvious and appreciated.
