This past week, our world changed forever. We lost our father, brother, fiancé and friend, David Andrew Trisch. David, known to his loved ones as Dave, suffered a heart attack on Thursday, April 14, 2016. He passed away at the Cortland Regional Medical Center, Cortland, NY.
Dave, born in Philadelphia, PA, on December 6, 1960, was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Kapitan) Trisch. Dave is survived by his three children, Megan Trisch, Lawrenceville, NJ; David Joseph “DJ” Trisch, South Coventry, PA; Eric Trisch, South Coventry, PA; and their mother, Anna (Kanaskie) Trisch. Additionally, he is survived by his granddaughter, Winter Ann. Dave also leaves behind his fiancée, Carolyn Lange Pettit, of Smithville Flats, NY; a brother, Lawrence Trisch, of Phoenixville, PA; a sister and brother-in-law, Michele and Andrew Fisher, of East Coventry, PA; an uncle, John Trisch, of Phoenixville, PA; as well as beloved nieces and nephews.
Dave was raised in Phoenixville, PA, and resided most of his life in South Coventry, PA. Most recently, he resided in Smithville Flats, NY, where he quickly came to love the lakes, trout streams, and mountains. Dave was an avid outdoorsman. He acquired his love of nature and the outdoors from his father, with whom he enjoyed much time, hunting and fishing. Additionally, he had a passion for sports, especially for coaching baseball and softball at the little league and travel league levels.
Dave took his talent and passion for coaching and combined it with a career at Genuardi’s Family Markets, where, for over 25 years, he was asked to open, lead and manage numerous stores for the Genuardi’s family, including their flagship store and other stores in the Philadelphia area. He inspired and was inspired by so many of his employees over the span of his career.
A burial service will be held in New York on Monday, April 18, 2016. Please join the family for a memorial service to celebrate Dave's life on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church, Phoenixville, PA. Because Dave was driven by a desire to be outdoors, to play sports and to coach, Dave’s family and friends wish to honor him by donating to “Right to Play USA.” This not-for-profit organization focuses on providing opportunities for children to play and engage within their communities. For many in our country, the power of playing and engaging with other children is not an opportunity. The “Right to Play USA” organization allows children to gain confidence, become guardians of their own health and actively participate in their communities.
Please click on the link below and consider donating, to honor Dave’s life and memory. Thank you.
