David L. Brewer, Sr.

David L. Brewer, Sr., 63, of N. Norwich, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at his home.

Born in Cortland, NY, on August 1, 1954, David was the son of the late Leslie and Catherine Craft Brewer.  A longtime resident of the area, David proudly served in the U.S. Army.  He drove truck for many different companies throughout his lifetime and loved to spend time outdoors riding his four-wheeler and enjoying the wonders of nature.  He was an avid reader who enjoyed making dream-catchers on many of his long-haul trucking jobs.  A loving and devoted family man, he will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda Nelson Brewer; and his children, Nicole (Wade) Moore of Norwich and David (Wendy) Brewer, Jr. of N. Norwich.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Chelsea (Dan) Stanton, Michaela Brewer, Derek Moore, Devin Moore, and Harley Brewer; a great-granddaughter, Natalie Stanton; brothers, Roger, Richard, John, and Leslie Brewer, Jr.; sisters, Kathleen Stoker and Deatta Uecker; mother-in-law, Esther Nelson; several step-brothers, step-sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Susan Chapman.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at the McDonough American Legion on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at 1:00 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of David may be made to the Chenango SPCA, 6160 Co. Rd. 32, Norwich, NY 13815.
