David D. Armstrong

September 21, 1942 — April 18, 2021

David D. Armstrong, 78, of Berkshire, NY, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at his home, while surrounded by his family.

Born in Waverly, NY, of September 21, 1942, David was the son of the late Porter and Lucy Armstrong.  He worked at the ladder factory, C&D Vans, Morse Chain, Smith Corona, and NYS Department of Transportation.  He was a life member of the Berkshire Fire Department, Berkshire Sr. Citizens, and the Randsom Park, Tioga Center.  He enjoyed hunting and riding his Harley.  Most of all, he loved his friends (Jack Holcomb Family) clam bakes, watching them play in the mud with motorcycles and four-wheelers and Mark taking him to flea markets.  They let Debbie and Dorothy tag along.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Underwood Armstrong; his children, Delbert (Kirstine) Armstrong and Deborah (Mark) Wood.  He also leaves behind his grandkids, Douglas (Biranna), Henry, Shawnee, Caleb (Kyeanna), Susan (Levi), and Corinne; a great-grandson, Layton; sisters, Diane Ellers, and Roberta Pregnon; a brother, Gary (Virginia); aunts, Hazel (Larry) VanSusan and Ethel Smith; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Philip and Roger.

In keeping with his wishes, services will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Berkshire, NY.
