Charles A. Januszka, 87, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 24, 2024, at his home.
Born in Syracuse, NY, on November 24, 1936, Chuck was the son of the late Charles and Stella Czerwinski Januszka. He was a graduate of the Sacred Heart Academy in Syracuse and a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Cummins North Atlantic Diesel in Syracuse for over 30 years.
He is survived by his children, Delaine Marcey of Cortland, Larry (Annette) Januszka of Willet, and Michael Januszka of Cincinnatus. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Reggie (Eileen) Januszka of Syracuse; a sister-in-law, Bobbie Januszka of Syracuse; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of almost 63 years, Carol Noyes Januszka on April 26, 2023, and a brother, Paul Januszka on August 5, 2017.
The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Avenue, Syracuse, NY, Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. Burial, with military honors, will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Chuck may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
